So we've been referring to our future daughter by the nickname Edy (pronounced EE-dee) for quite awhile now. We took it from Ethiopia, the true pronunciation being ee-tee-OH-pee-uh. So at first she was EE-tee but then it just started coming out as EE-dee. Now that we're adopting a boy, too, we've got the perfect nickname for him, also derived from Ethiopia - Opie!
All that to say how cute and fun it is to call our future son and daughter Edy and Opie! No, there will not be an Uh. Two is plenty!
Hmm...maybe we'll have people vote on the actual names we're considering...
